A care home in Bury St Edmunds hosted a Halloween party not to be forgotten for local youngsters.
Residents at Care UK’s Mildenhall Lodge, on St Johns Close, celebrated the spooky holiday with team members, their children and grandchildren, in what proved to be a fang-tastic party at the care home.
In true Halloween spirit, the children dressed up in a host of ghoulish costumes and went trick or treating around the home, where residents were waiting to give them some sweet treats. Everyone then enjoyed a buffet, specially prepared by the home’s chefs together.
Deepa Reju, Home Manager at Mildenhall Lodge, said: “Here at Mildenhall Lodge, we love an excuse to throw a party and there’s no better time for fancy dress than Halloween.
“Intergenerational interaction is incredibly beneficial for the wellbeing of older people, and residents love having children come to visit – it’s always a lot of fun and the youngsters are such a bundle of energy. Residents are never short of something to do when they’re around!”
“Everyone had a lovely time celebrating Halloween – we’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for our next activity very soon!”
Mildenhall Lodge is a modern care home providing full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable their residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care homes have their very own cinema and hair salon, and there is plenty of space both in and outdoors for relaxation and recreation.
