Proof is in the pudding! Bromsgrove care home scoops national awards

A care home in Bromsgrove is celebrating after receiving two national award wins for their top-class culinary skills.

The team at Chandler Court, on Recreation Road, took home first place for ‘Care Establishment of the Year’ at the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) awards and Alex Millichamp, Second Chef at Chandler Court, also scooped the Health and Hygiene award. 

 

The National Association of Care Catering Awards rewards individuals, teams, companies and organisations who go above and beyond to deliver high-quality, nutritious food in a care setting.

The team was praised by the judges for their person-centred approach, catering to residents’ daily needs and adjusting menus to better suit their preferences. The catering team at Chandler Court also encourage residents to get involved, enlisting their help in making afternoon tea boxes for the community for example. Team members often choose to eat with residents on the dementia floor and chat with them over meals to ensure everyone gets to know each other.

Commenting on the award wins, Alex said: “The team and I are incredibly proud to have taken a top spot at the National Association of Care Catering Awards this year. Our team is dedicated to providing the very best dining experience for residents and creating menus that are inventive, nutritious and tasty – so we’re thrilled that our efforts have been recognised at a national level.”
