Local care ho-ho-home brings festive cheer to Stratford-upon-Avon

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at a Stratford-upon-Avon care home, with the local community invited to celebrate the festive season at its Christmas fete. 

On Saturday 3^rd December, from 9.30am-3.30pm, the team at Care UK’s Ambleside, on Evesham Road, will open the doors to the home and bring festive cheer to the town.

Going above and beyond to deck the home in all things Christmas, the team at Ambleside will be welcoming local District Councillor for Welford on Avon, Manuela Perteghella, to join in the festive fun – and of course, try the tasty seasonal delights.

Visitors will be able to do some Christmas shopping at a number of stalls and treat themselves to some mulled wine and mince pies. There will be a raffle and tombola on hand for guests to try their luck at winning some early Christmas presents, and Father Christmas and his little helper will be sliding down the chimney to get everyone in the festive spirit – with an opportunity to visit him in his grotto. 

Staci Reeson, Customer Relations Manager at Ambleside, said: “The local community is a huge part of life here at Ambleside and the relationships we have are extremely important to us, so our Christmas fete is a great way to say thank you for their support in recent years and spread some festive cheer. 

“As well as providing a great chance for some seasonal fun, our Christmas fete also gives us an opportunity to prompt happy memories of Christmas for residents, which is especially important for those living with dementia. Reminiscence activities like this are perfect for getting conversations going and sharing memories, so it’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get into the Christmas spirit.

“The day is set to be enjoyable for all ages, so we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of people to the home for what promises to be an exciting day of festive celebrations.”
