For all the family – Poole care home invites local community to family fun day

A care home in Poole is inviting the local community to a day of carnival-inspired fun and games.

From 2.00pm-4.00pm on Thursday 18th August, the Care UK team at The Potteries, on York Road, will be hosting a special summer garden party and everyone is invited.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors and residents will be able to enjoy crafts, books, cakes, candy floss and popcorn, tombola, raffle in aid of Soldiers Sailor Air Force Association and a magician.

There will also be a magician, to keep younger visitors entertained, and family games, including coconut shy, hook a duck, guess the number sweets in a jar and soak the staff.

The summer carnival will see the community invited to enjoy drinks and fresh food straight from the barbecue cooked by The Potteries’ Head Chef.

Zita Turner, Home Manager at The Potteries, said: “We’re excited to be inviting the community through our doors to celebrate summer and community spirit…it’s a wonderful opportunity to put smiles on the faces of local people young and older.

“It will also be a great opportunity for members of the community to see what life is really like at The Potteries. We’re really looking forward to welcoming local people for an afternoon of family fun – you won’t want to miss this!”

The Potteries is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
