Sale care home searches for local heroes

A care home in Sale is asking the surrounding community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £500 cash prize.

Care UK’s Oakfield Croft, on Oakfield, is searching for local people or organisations who consistently change people’s lives for the better, regardless of whether it’s friends, family or the local community.

The winner of the ‘local heroes’ competition will receive a £500 cash prize and be invited to the home’s summer open day event on 12th August.

Daniel Cole, home manager at Oakfield Croft, said: “We all know that one special person who makes a positive impact on the people around them each every day. Whether it’s the coach who ferries children to and from matches on the weekend, the teacher who tutors in their own time or the volunteer who organises local fundraisers – we want to reward them.

“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve.”

To nominate your ‘local hero’, visit careuk.com/care-homes/oakfield-croft-sale/local-hero-competition by the 29th July 2022 and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.

Oakfield Croft has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities, as well as facilities like a cinema, coffee shop and hair salon.
