Give a little love – A Ferndown care home is inviting frontline workers to collect a special treat this Valentine’s Day

A care home in Ferndown is giving frontline workers a tasty treat to collect on their way to their vital jobs.

The team at Care UK’s Ferndown Manor, on Golf Links Road, is giving out free take-away breakfasts for those in the community as a small token of thanks for their hard work.

Frontline workers are encouraged to order their breakfast and then come along to the care home’s front door on Valentine’s Day between 7.30-9.30am to pick up a breakfast sandwich, which the team is organising as a treat to brighten their day on their way to work or way back from night shifts.

The head chef at Ferndown Manor is creating egg, bacon, sausage, and vegan breakfast baps to give out to those who continue to play vital roles in the pandemic, from local nurses and healthcare workers to delivery drivers. 

Sara Muslin, Home Manager at Ferndown Manor, said: “We wanted to ’give a little love’ and organise a way to thank those in our local community who continue to work in frontline roles despite the challenges of the pandemic. 

“Here at Ferndown Manor we love raising funds for local charities and giving back to the community. We thought what better day than Valentine’s Day to express love towards all those who are on the frontline of the pandemic. 

“If you are a frontline worker please phone the home to order a breakfast on us and pick up this Valentine’s Day.”
