Residents at a Ferndown care home have received a special delivery from local pupils.
Care UK’s Ferndown Manor, on Golf Links Road, received over 60 colourful Christmas cards, all handmade by pupils at Parley First School and Ferndown First School to celebrate the festive season.
The cards included drawings of snowflakes, snowmen and Christmas trees, as well as messages and festive greetings to residents.
Residents have been busy designing their own Christmas cards for the pupils in exchange for their kind festive gesture.
Everyone is keen to continue to build on a relationship with the local pupils, and work together on more initiatives in the new year.
Sara Muslin, Home Manager at Ferndown Manor, adds: “We’re feeling really festive here at Ferndown Manor and receiving the Christmas cards was a wonderful surprise for residents.
“Intergenerational relationships have proven to be enriching for both young and older people, as they provide an opportunity for the different generations to learn from each other.
“There is no question that our home and the children at Parley First School and Ferndown First School have a wonderful friendship in the making, and we look forward to working together again in the future.”
Ferndown Manor has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives in a luxury environment.
