Breakfast is on us! Hailsham care home provides frontline workers with special treat

A care home in Hailsham has been giving frontline workers a tasty treat as they make their way to and from their vital jobs.

The team at Care UK’s Bowes House, on Battle Road, gave out 65 free take-away breakfasts for those in the community as a small token of thanks.

Frontline workers were encouraged to come along to the care home’s front door to pick up a bacon or sausage sandwich which the team at the care home organised as a treat to brighten their day after all the challenges of the last 18 months.

The head chef at Bowes House created egg, bacon, sausage, and vegan breakfast baps and gave them out to those who play vital roles in the fight against Covid, from local nurses and healthcare workers, including Elite Medical and Ambulance Services, to delivery drivers.

Shaun Cornford from Elite Medical and Ambulance Services said: “On behalf of all staff at Elite Medical, we would like to say a huge thank you to the Bowes House team for their extremely kind donation of bacon rolls to our staff on shift today.

“Throughout continued difficult times, it’s lovely to see that our incredible team are appreciated by their community with kind gestures such as this.”

Ryan Harris, Home Manger at Bowes House, said: “Our breakfast giveaway provided us with an excellent opportunity to do something nice for members of the community who continue to work in frontline roles despite the challenges of the pandemic. It was great to put a smile on their faces and give something back.

“We would like to thank the whole team for getting involved – and a special thank you to the keyworkers for all you have done for our community.”
