A jolly good time! Kingston Vale care home welcomes school choir for a festive sing-along

A care home in Kingston Vale was delighted to welcome pupils from a local primary school for a socially distanced Christmas sing-along ahead of the big day.

Residents and team members at Care UK’s Sherwood Grange, on Robin Hood Lane, welcomed pupils from Kings College Junior Boys School into their garden for a special sing-along.

Residents watched from the comfort of the home’s lounge and sang along as pupils performed classic carols. To accompany their Christmas carols, the pupils also performed a host of hymns in Father Christmas hats – much to the resident’s surprise and enjoyment.

Rick Mayne, Home Manager at Sherwood Grange, said: “We had a wonderful time singing along to our favourite carols, excellently performed by the pupils at Kings College Junior Boys School.

“It was wonderful to see the smiles on the residents’ faces as the pupils arrived in their Father Christmas hats and began singing. With restrictions now in place once more, we are pleased to have been able to progress our carol singing event with the school in a socially distanced manner. Residents enjoyed the singing from the comfort of inside – with a mince pie or two for added festive cheer!

“On behalf of all the residents and team members at Sherwood Grange, we want to say a big thank you to the pupils at Kings College Junior Boys School and look forward to inviting them back again in the new year once restrictions allow.”

Sherwood Grange has been designed to encourage residents to live active and fulfilling lives, while remaining as independent as possible in a safe environment.
