New crazy golf course opens in Edinburgh – and you’ll never guess where it is

A new crazy golf experience, based around famous Edinburgh landmarks, has opened in Colinton – and you’ll never guess where it is. 

Care UK’s Cairdean House care home, on Redford Road, will soon be vibrating to the sound of cheers for Eagles and Birdies after launching its own crazy golf course. 

 

Handmade by carer, Laura Mitchell, the tee-rific course is based around various Edinburgh landmarks, including Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo and the iconic Forth Bridges. Donning their best golfing attire, residents and team members took to the course for the Cairdean Open.  

85-year-old resident, June, said: “We all loved the course and had a fantastic time playing. The lifestyle team really brought everything to life with the fancy dress, which made us all laugh. We really did have a wonderful day.”

Gillian Goodall, Home Manager at Cairdean House, said: “Here at Cairdean House, we believe in promoting independence through activity-based care – and sometimes, this means thinking outside the box!"

“We’ll all be practicing our putting ahead of our next game – I know everyone is really looking forward to it!”
