Considering the care of your loved one? Local care home offers free advice

Home news

A new care home in Kidderminster is inviting the local community to a free online event offering support for people considering care for their loved one.

On Wednesday 26th May, from 2pm to 3.30pm, the Care UK team at Brook Court, on Oldnall Road, will host a free ‘How We Care’ online event.

On the day, the experienced Care UK team, including Customer Relations Manager, Kay Mayes, will be on hand to deliver an informative session to help those considering care. She’ll be providing advice on identifying what to look for when choosing a home, the next steps to take, and what day-to-day life is really like in a modern care home – including the activities on offer, as well as the home’s facilities.

After the event, local people are invited to take a virtual tour of the home, featuring all the facilities and restaurant, and to explore the variety of care available at the home and its rich programme of activity.

Gill Pratt said: “Brook Court received an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC for the caring nature of our team, so we’re delighted to be able to host this virtual ‘How We Care’ event and meet the community. We understand that finding the right care home is a hugely important decision, so we’re offering a helping hand to those who need guidance.

“There are many common myths and misconceptions about care home life, and we’re hoping our virtual event will help to dispel them. We hope local people will take this opportunity to join us for an afternoon full of advice and tips.”

For anyone unsure about how to take part in the virtual event, help is at hand. The team at Brook Court will host the event using Zoom, an online meeting space. Simply call or email Customer Relations Manager, Kay Mayes, and she will send a link to join the event and share her tips to make the most out of the session.

Brook Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The care home, which features 67 en-suite bedrooms, has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
