Dedicated, Covid-safe indoor visiting room opens at The Potteries care home

The Potteries care home in Poole is pleased to announce the installation of a dedicated indoor visiting room, allowing residents to receive Covid-safe, screened visits from their loved ones.

The Potteries has been provided with a fully secure visiting pod, with a built-in clear screen allowing residents to enjoy Covid-safe visits from their relatives. The pod, which is directly accessible from the courtyard, is complete with an intercom system so friends and relatives to chat with their loved ones securely within the home.

We can continue to facilitate these visits with residents loved one even if someone working or living in the home has symptoms of the virus or have tested positive for Covid-19 . In some rare circumstances, we may need to pause these indoor visits but we’ll continue to provide closed window visits as we know how important it is for you to see your loved one.

Here at the Potteries we firmly believe that maintaining family and social connections is fundamental to the health and wellbeing of residents. We are committed to ensuring residents are able to enjoy visits from their family and friends wherever possible while complying with current restrictions.

Caroline Hearne, customer relations manager at The Potteries, said, “I know relatives and friends will be very relieved to hear this news and the pod will make a huge difference to the lives of residents and their families. I’m sure you agree this is a very promising step forward to be able to see loved ones”.
