A new care home in Quorn is asking the community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £500 cash prize.
Care UK’s Lonsdale Mews, on Farley Way, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.
The winner of the ‘local heroes’ competition will receive £500 as a reward for their selflessness and hard work.
Toby Sturgess, Home Manager at Lonsdale Mews, said: “We know just how challenging the last year has been, but local people have really pulled together and reminded us of the importance of a strong and united community. There has been a tremendous number of acts of kindness throughout the pandemic, so here at Lonsdale Mews we just want to say thank you.
“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity who helped making PPE for key workers, a community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve.”
To nominate your ‘local hero’, visit careuk.com/lonsdale-mews/local-hero before 5pm on Sunday 31st January 2021 and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.
Lonsdale Mews provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care. The home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, and includes its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
