Sevenoaks care home thanks local community for their support

Sevenoaks care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Sevenoaks has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Care UK’s Weald Heights, on Bourchier Close, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Sevenoaks over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Weald Heights was inundated with support, receiving a touching letter and pictures from pupils at Lady Boswell’s School. Missing the visits the pupils usually have with the residents, the pupils created some Spanish-themed artwork for residents to enjoy. The team was also treated to free pizza from their local Domino’s branch, tasty donuts from Chevening Financial and thoughtful letters of supports from Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce.

Residents also enjoyed receiving a weekly newsletter, featuring photos and updates about a relative’s garden in Norfolk.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday or keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Weald Heights have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Maria Covington, home manager at Weald Heights, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months, whether that be through volunteering, sending tokens of appreciation, or sharing some lovely pictures with the residents.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families. It really has kept everyone going.

“On behalf of everyone at Weald Heights, thank you so much.”

The ethos at Weald Heights is based on person-centred care, which means residents’ values are right at the heart of the home. Choice, variety and luxury are built into every aspect of life at Weald Heights, which offers a combination of professional, individualised care and luxury hotel-style comfort.
