Leamington Spa care home thanks local community for their support

Leamington Spa care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Leamington Spa has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team.

Care UK’s Priors House, on Old Milverton Lane, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Leamington Spa over the past couple of months.

From virtual musical performances, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Priors House has been inundated with support, with virtual musical performances for residents from cellist, Corinne Frost, and donations from Taylor Wimpey, and plants delivered for the home’s garden from Smith’s Nurseries & Garden Centre. Thoughtful letters and drawings from Dear Residents – Warwickshire, which had compiled the creative pieces from young artists from around Warwickshire, were also delivered – putting smiles on everyone’s faces.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or organising a surprise visit from Leamington Fire Service for resident Barry, a retired fireman, as part of his birthday celebrations, team members at Priors House have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Francine Summers, home manager at Priors House, said: “We have been truly overwhelmed with the amount of support the people of Leamington Spa have offered.

“Everyone at Priors House would like to thank local people for their kind gestures, however big or small, from the wonderful delivery of plants for our garden, to the super visit from the local fire service for Barry’s birthday. Your consideration and generosity has helped us through this challenging time, by bringing a smile to residents missing their families, and a morale boost to our hardworking team.

“We are truly lucky to be part of such a wonderful, caring community, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!”
