A care home in Crowborough has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.
Care UK’s Heather View, on Beacon Road, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Crowborough over the past couple of months.
From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.
Heather View was inundated with support, receiving meals, cakes and treats for the team from A La Clark Catering, Food 4 Heroes, The Hygiene Bank, Crowborough Royal British Legion, Lidl as well as a number of gifts from residents’ families. Members of the regular toddler group sent chocolates for the home, and activity packs arrived from the local Morrison’s branch. Homemade laundry bags have been provided by members of the community and flowers were sent from Waitrose for Mother’s Day for residents.
Residents were also treated to a special socially distanced garden performance from Sounds Up Arts’ Hannah Boxall on VE Day, featuring tunes from the 1940s and 1950s era, as well as a song from three-year-old Johan.
Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative ideas, team members at Heather View have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.
Natasha King, home manager at Heather View, said: “Everyone at Heather View is incredibly grateful for the kindness shown by the Crowborough community.
“From putting together activity packs for residents to sending delicious treats for us all to enjoy, we are truly thankful for your support.
“The team and residents at Heather View are looking forward to thanking everyone in person for their gestures of goodwill when we are able to safely open our doors to the community once again.”
Heather View has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite and palliative care.
