Cheltenham care home thanks local community for their support in heart-warming video

Cheltenham care home thanks local community for their support in heart-warming videoA care home in Cheltenham has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from members of the community to its dedicated team.

Unable to say thank you in person, residents and team members at Care UK’s Sandfields, on St George’s Road, have sent out a virtual thank you, to express their gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Cheltenham over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Sandfields was inundated with support, receiving sweet treats from its local Co-op branch and tasty rainbow-themed cakes from families and members of the community, as well as thoughtful cards for team members and residents. The team also had the opportunity to pamper themselves in a temporary relaxation room at the home, using health and beauty products delivered by SLG Brands.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Sandfields have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Emma Mackenzie-Bedford, home manager at Sandfields, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months, whether that be through volunteering, sending tokens of appreciation, or reminding our hard-working team to pamper themselves.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families. It really has kept everyone going.

“On behalf of everyone at Sandfields, thank you so much.”
