Worcester care home thanks local community for their support

Worcester care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Worcester has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Care UK’s Perry Manor, on Charles Hastings Way, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Worcester over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Perry Manor has been inundated with support, receiving hand painted stones from the 20th Worcester Scout Group, knitted hearts from the family of a team member, as well as sweet treats from the local community.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or supporting residents to keep in touch with their families remotely, team members at Perry Manor have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Customer relations manager, Jimi Wright, has also spent time supporting the local community, delivering and distributing PPE for Age UK across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Katherine Matthews, home manager at Perry Manor, said: “Everyone at Perry Manor is incredibly grateful for the kindness shown by the Worcester community.

“From sending tokens of appreciation to the team, to uplifting residents’ spirits with handmade stones for the garden, we are truly thankful for your support.

“The team and residents at Perry Manor are looking forward to thanking everyone in person for their gestures of goodwill when we are able to safely open our doors to the community once again.”
