A care home in Stratford-upon-Avon has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from members of the community to its dedicated team.
Care UK’s Ambleside, on Evesham Road, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Stratford-upon-Avon over the past couple of months.
From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.
Ambleside has been inundated with support, and residents were treated to a musical garden performance from Hannah and Kissing It Better, who sang songs outside the home. Thoughtful drawings were also shared from youngsters at Monster Mischief, while residents’ families have donated plants for the home’s garden, with volunteers Angelo and Luca, from the Rotary Shelter Bus, Warwickshire & Solihull Blood Bikes and Scouts, also donating their time to help with the garden and mowing the home’s large lawn.
The home also received an array of drinks and tasty treats, including pastries, from residents of the Welford Parish and Bidford-on-Avon, as well as Stratford-upon-Avon Rotary Club, Binton Community Support Group and its local TK Maxx.
Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or painting a seaside-themed mural on one of the home’s balconies, team members at Ambleside have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.
Julia Joy, home manager at Ambleside, said: “We were overwhelmed with all the support we received and the acts of kindness we witnessed, whether they came from outside or inside the home.
“Everyone at Ambleside would like to thank local people for their kind gestures, however big or small, from putting pen to paper and sending us thoughtful letters to helping us with the garden. Your consideration and generosity has helped us through this challenging time, by bringing a smile to residents missing their families, and a morale boost to our hardworking team.
“We are truly lucky to be part of such a wonderful, caring community, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!”
