Stowmarket care home thanks local community for their support

Stowmarket care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Stowmarket has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Care UK’s Cedrus House, on Bittern Crescent, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Stowmarket over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Cedrus House was inundated with support, receiving letters and drawings from local children, including pupils at the Freeman Primary School, as well as tokens of appreciation from Domino’s, Stowmarket Town Council and Costa Coffee, and a hamper of treats from Asda.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or organising a book club, team members at Cedrus House have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Michelle Webster, home manager at Cedrus House, said: “We have been truly overwhelmed with the amount of support the people of Stowmarket have offered.

“Everyone at Cedrus House would like to thank local people for their kind gestures, however big or small, from dropping off sweet treats for team members to writing letters to residents. Your consideration and generosity has helped us through this challenging time, by bringing a smile to residents missing their families, and a morale boost to our hardworking team.

“We are truly lucky to be part of such a wonderful, caring community, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!”
Cedrus House is a modern care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hair salon, and there is plenty of space both in and outdoors for relaxation and recreation. The home also has a purpose-built day centre for the benefit of older people in the local community.
