Stansted care home thanks local community for their support

Stansted care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Stansted has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from members of the community to its dedicated team.

Care UK’s Mountfitchet House, located on the corner of Coltsfield, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Stansted over the past couple of months.

From sending in thoughtful gifts, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Mountfitchet House has been inundated with support, receiving goodies and sweet treats from Tee Birds, Karen’s Cakes and Stansted Surgery. Team members and residents also enjoyed a pizza night, courtesy of their local Domino’s.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or setting up a karaoke session for residents, team members at Mountfitchet House have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Although in lockdown, residents were still able to enjoy a visit from Maisie the dog, and to celebrate VE day, Mountfitchet House organised for a special, socially distanced performance from local trumpet player, Stuart Dodgson.

Sarah Sargeant, deputy home manager at Mountfitchet House, said: “We want to thank everyone in Stansted for their continued kindness throughout this challenging time.

“Here at Mountfitchet House, we play an active role in our community, and it’s been overwhelming to see how many people have reached out to support us in the last couple of months.

“Both residents and team members are looking forward to welcoming back local people into Mountfitchet House to say thank you when we are able.”

Mountfitchet House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
