Two care homes in Berkshire have thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.
Care UK’s Mountbatten Grange, in Windsor, and Oak House, in Slough, have expressed their gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Berkshire over the past couple of months.
From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.
Mountbatten Grange has been inundated with support, receiving gifts from the Ascot, Bracknell and Windsor community, as well as the home’s local Costa branch, including goodie bags, sweets and drinks for the team.
At Oak House, residents received Easter eggs, as well as art materials from Tesco Slough’s community champions, allowing them to create special posters, now displayed by the shop’s entrance and exit. Popcorn was also sent to the home by CVS Slough to make film nights extra special, as well as drinks from Coca-Cola for team members to enjoy.
Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Mountbatten Grange and Oak House have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.
Debbie Winwood, home manager at Mountbatten Grange, said “We want to thank everyone in Windsor for their continued kindness throughout this challenging time.
“Here at Mountbatten Grange, we play an active role in our community, and it’s been overwhelming to see how many people have reached out to support us in the last couple of months.”
Yvonne Keating, home manager at Oak House, added: “We have been truly overwhelmed with the amount of support the people of Slough have offered.
“Everyone at Oak House would like to thank local people for their kind gestures, however big or small, from sending popcorn for our film nights to encouraging residents to get creative by donating art materials and displaying their work. Your consideration and generosity has helped us through this challenging time, by bringing a smile to residents missing their families, and a morale boost to our hardworking team.”
Mountbatten Grange and Oak House care homes have been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The homes incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and offer the highest standards of care, including residential, nursing and dementia care.
