A new care home in Bracknell invited residents from a neighbouring care home for a day of entertainment and fun.
Bickerton House care home, on Warfield Road, opened its doors in January and offers state-of-the-art living facilities for older people in the community.
To test out these features, residents from neighbouring Slough care home, Oak House, were invited for a day at Bickerton House, where they enjoyed lunch prepared by the homes’ head chef and took part in activities, including creating their own sweet trees.
The home and its guests were kept entertained by Ashley Stone, who sang a variety of 50’s hits, which got everyone singing, dancing and in the party spirit.
Home manager at Bickerton House, Erika Smith, said: “The team at Bickerton House were thrilled to have the residents from Oak House over for a fun-filled day. We are proud of the environment that has been created, and every last detail here has been considered to create a high-quality, luxury care home which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives.
“We had a wonderful day with the visitors from Oak House, the team members and guests really enjoyed meeting each other. I hope they all come back to visit again soon!”
Opened in January 2020, the purpose-built care home has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, and incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, including its own cinema, hair salon and café.
