How to live well with arthritis – Cringleford care home hosts free advice event

A care home in Cringleford is inviting local people to a free event to learn more about living well with arthritis.

On Wednesday 26^th February, from 2pm-4pm, Care UK’s Cavell Court, on Dragonfly Lane, is welcoming an expert to give advice to the local community at its living well with arthritis event.

Chris Preston, from Versus Arthritis, will be visiting the home to provide expert guidance on the condition and how to effectively manage the associated symptoms. During the event there will be a chance to learn more about the different types of arthritis, discover practical ways of managing pain, and there will also be advice for family members on how to support loved ones to live well with the condition.

This event also provides members of the local community with the opportunity to meet the friendly team at Cavell Court and take a closer look at the care home.

Karen Curle, home manager at Cavell Court, said: “Arthritis affects around 10 million people in the UK, and some forms are more common in older people*. Here at Cavell Court, we recognise that managing the symptoms of arthritis from an early stage can have a beneficial effect on health and wellbeing, and we’re keen to encourage local people to learn more about this.

 “It is imperative that we create a safe environment for older people in the community and ensure that family and friends are properly equipped to best support their loved ones. We are looking forward to welcoming Chris, who can provide specific knowledge and guidance on the different forms of arthritis, for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of advice.”
