Hythe’s newest care home is inviting the local community to attend its grand launch event, where the Chairman of the New Forest District Council, Councillor Allan Glass, will officially open the home.
On Thursday 27th February, from 2pm-4pm, local people are invited to visit Carpathia Grange, on Southampton Road, to join in the celebrations and toast the new care home.
With the first residents having moved into Carpathia Grange in November, everyone at the home is gearing up to mark its official opening.
On arrival, guests will be welcomed by a harpist, and Councillor Allan Glass will be cutting the ribbon to officially open the care home, alongside first resident, Freda Bale. The winners of the ‘Local Heroes’ competition will also be announced and officially presented with their prizes.
After the official proceedings, there will be a musical performance from an acoustic jazz band, and fun for all the family with a chance to get up close with a variety of friendly animals from the Creature Teachers.
Those who attend the event will also have the chance to meet the friendly team at Carpathia Grange and take a tour of the care home.
Carpathia Grange home manager, Ray Arnold, said: “Since we opened the doors to Carpathia Grange, we have had such a warm and positive response from those living locally that we already feel like part of the community. To say thank you, we’d like to invite the people of Hythe to be part of our official opening celebrations and share this special day with us.
“We have planned a family-friendly event to appeal to all generations, and are delighted to have so many special guests coming along on the day to help us mark this important milestone.”
The new three-storey care home, which provides residential, dementia and nursing care, features 62 ensuite bedrooms, and has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
