Local care home puts its knowledge to the test for charity

A care home in Banbury is hosting a fundraiser for local people in aid of Katherine House Hospice.

On Thursday 30^th January, from 6pm-8.30pm, the team at Care UK’s Highmarket House, on North Bar Place, is hosting a quiz night as part of their Karcher Accumulator Challenge.

Guests can enjoy wine and canapes on arrival, entry into the quiz and the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes for a small donation to the good cause.

Katherine House Hospice provides specialist care for adults with life limiting conditions across three counties. Their Karcher Accumalator Challenge gives local businesses, schools and community groups £50 with the aim to get them to think creatively about how to make a profit for the charity.

Jo Pohl, home manager at Highmarket House, said: “Here at Highmarket House we understand that it is important to provide support for a local organisations wherever we can. The Katherine House Hospice is a cause that is close to our hearts as it provides an essential service for people living with life limiting conditions, as well as their families and carers, which is why we are delighted to be supporting this initiative.

“We are excited to host our quiz night and are looking forward to welcoming the community into the home – please RSVP to secure your place at this event!”

Highmarket House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia, nursing and short-term respite care. The home, which features 73 en-suite bedrooms, has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
