A care home in Crowborough is opening its doors to the community for some avian-themed activities this January.
Inspired by the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes place from Saturday 25th January to Monday 27th January, residents will be taking part in a variety of activities related to our feathered friends, as well as topping up their bird feeders and counting the birds in their garden.
On Thursday 23rd January, from 11am-12pm, Heather View, on Beacon Road, is inviting the local community to celebrate the best of British birds with a special talk hosted by an RSPB expert.
The home has also invited St John’s Primary School to join them for the occasion.
Natasha King, home manager at Heather View, explained why exploring our wildlife is an important activity: “We’re always inspired by RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch, and this year we’ve decided to go one step further and celebrate British birds by hosting a special informative talk, along with pupils/ from St John’s Primary School.
“We’re excited to be taking part in a whole host of nature-based activities, so it will be a great opportunity for everyone to have lots of fun while learning more about our local wildlife.
“We look forward to welcoming St John’s Primary School to get our celebration off to a flying start!”
