A local care home has raised money for the Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, which is currently appealing for donations to contribute to its major refurbishment, starting with the damaged roof.
Care UK’s Mercia Grange, on Lichfield Road, donated £318 to the community cause, after hosting a Christmas Fair selling handmade gifts, and festive treats, such as mince pies and mulled wine, and donating funds raised. The fair featured festive treats, Christmas music and a visit from Santa too.
Shirley Gibbs, home manager at Mercia Grange, said: “We are proud to have raised funds for such a good cause. We would like to thank everyone who came to our Christmas Fair, as well as the residents and team members who spent time making gifts and helping create such a wonderful event.
“Over the past year we have built a strong relationship with Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, and in fact were nominated for one of the Sutton Coldfield Community Awards. We look forward to continuing to support the Town Hall into 2020.”
