It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at a Horndean care home, with the local community invited to celebrate the festive season at its Christmas fete.
On Saturday 14th December, from 2.30pm-4.30pm, the team at Care UK’s Pear Tree Court, on Portsmouth Road, will open the doors to the home and bring festive cheer to the town.
Visitors will be able to do some Christmas shopping at a number of stalls, enjoy seasonal treats and say hello to Father Christmas in his grotto. There will also be live entertainment from Jigsaw to keep everyone in the festive spirit.
Pear Tree Court customer relations manager, Chris Roby, said: “The local community is a huge part of life here at Pear Tree Court and the relationships we have are extremely important to us, so our Christmas fete is a great way to say thank you for their support over the last year and spread some festive cheer.
“As well as providing a great chance for some seasonal fun, our Christmas fete also gives us an opportunity to prompt happy memories of Christmas for residents, which is especially important for those living with dementia. Reminiscence activities like this are perfect for getting conversations going and sharing memories, so it’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get into the Christmas spirit.
“The afternoon is set to be enjoyable for all ages, so we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of people to the home for what promises to be an exciting afternoon of festive celebrations.”
Pear Tree Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hair salon, and there is plenty of space both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
