Chelmsford care home deputy manager celebrates national award win

A care home in Chelmsford is celebrating after a team member was recognised at a national awards ceremony.

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 120 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.

Maggie Ziemianska, deputy manager at Manor Lodge, on Manor Road, took home the Deputy Manager of the Year award, one of 20 accolades handed out during the event.

The panel of judges praised Maggie for being a hands-on, effective problem solver who assists in every aspect of home life. However, it was Maggie’s ability to think outside of the box which set her apart from competitors in the category. An example of Maggie truly making a difference was when she recognised the benefits animal therapy for older people, and started bringing her own dog Toffee every day, bringing ‘utter joy’ to residents and relatives.
