A care home in Cheadle hosted a fun-filled party to celebrate its four year anniversary. The Care UK team at Abney Court, in Abney Hall Park, held a ‘Ritz and Glitz’ party with an old Hollywood glamour theme, complete with their very own red carpet.

Residents enjoyed a musical show performed by Jenny from Musicures, while sipping prosecco and being served tastycanapés created especially for the occasion by the head chef. An impressive Hollywood themed cake was also made by Wendy from the lifestyle team.

The team also organised its very own Abney Star Awards, rewarding team members who make the home a positive, happy and wonderful place to work and live. Tinashe Vela won best carer, which was a huge honour after working at Abney Court for years. Tinashe won because he delivers excellent standards of care for the residents.

Helen Parry, home manager at Abney Court, said: “Abney Court has had many memorable moments over the past four years, and it’s lovely to celebrate the successes and good times with residents.

“It was lovely to see everyone get excited about the events going on throughout the day, whether it was getting glammed up before the party, eating canapés or enjoying our fantastic performer, we certainly celebrated in style!”
