A Worcester care home is on the hunt for old coins. Care UK’s Perry Manor care home, on Charles Hastings Way, is calling on the community to help them build a collection of pre-decimalisation coins for a range of reminiscence activities for residents.
Customer relations manager, James Wright, explains: “Here at Perry Manor, we are always finding new activities for residents to take part in. We have a selection of old magazines and adverts with pre-decimalisation prices in, and we hope to build an old coin collection, so that residents can enjoy counting out the coinage to the value of goods. “Such activities provide opportunities for people to remember and recall stories from their younger years, which are brilliant to hear. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.”
Perry Manor team members are happy to collect the coins from people living in Worcester and surrounding areas, or coins can be dropped in to the home on Charles Hastings Way, Worcester
WR5 1ET (for sat nav, please use post code WR5 1DD). If anyone has any old coins they would be willing to donate to Perry Manor care home, please contact James Wright, customer relations manager, on 07824 151 536, or email james.wright@careuk.com
