Residents at a care home in Windsor had the chance to get up close with paw-some animals.
The team at Care UK’s Mountbatten Grange, on Helston Lane, received a special visit from two friendly chihuahuas, brought by Hollie
Aria and Uno were taken on a tour of the home and spent time with residents. It was a wonderful opportunity for reminiscence with everyone sharing memories of their pets.
Debbie Winwood, home manager at Mountbatten Grange, said: “It was wonderful to see the smiles on everyone’s faces when Aria and Uno arrived at Mountbatten Grange. Their visit created a lot of excitement among the residents and Care UK team.
“Petting animals and being in their company has proven therapeutic benefits, particularly for those living with dementia, as it can reduce anxiety, release calming endorphins, and decrease feelings of loneliness. You could see from the residents’ reactions just how engaged they were when given the opportunity to get so close to such lovely, affectionate dogs.”
The new luxury care home, which features 72 ensuite bedrooms, has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hairdressing salon café, and private dining room with stunning views of Windsor Castle.
