The team at Mountbatten Grange are inviting the people of Windsor to join them for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September to ‘mocha’ real difference and raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Care UK’s Mountbatten Grange, on Helston Lane, is asking the community to join residents for an afternoon of coffee, cake and catch-ups to help raise money for the millions of people in the UK currently living with cancer.
From 2pm-4pm, guests will enjoy a relaxing afternoon sharing a cuppa with residents, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats - all of which will be available for a small donation to Macmillan. To top off the day, residents and visitors are also invited to tap their feet to live entertainment from Bus Pass to Broadway.
Every year Macmillan organises the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in kitchens, offices and village halls across the globe to fundraise for people living with cancer. Since the very first coffee morning in 1990 over £200 million has been raised for the charity, enabling it to support individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Debbie Winwood, home manager at Mountbatten Grange, says: “As the home only opened in autumn last year, we’re really looking forward to hosting our first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning and welcoming the local community to join us – it makes it even more special knowing we are raising funds for such a worthy cause.
“One in two of us will face cancer in our lifetime, so the money we raise will help those affected with cancer to live life as fully as they can. We invite everyone to come along for a delicious slice of cake and a wonderful afternoon of community fun!”
