The ten Care UK Suffolk care homes are celebrating after taking home gold for a number of regional awards.
The Suffolk Awards are held annually by Care UK to celebrate the achievements of its homes in the region, and culminated in an awards ceremony held at Ufford Park. The 21 categories highlight excellence within the care sector, and reward those who work tirelessly to provide above and beyond care.
On the day, Julie Wallace, from Hartismere Place, won ‘Team Leader of the Year’, Cedrus House took home ‘Exceptional Housekeeping’ while Rebecca Calver, from Mills Meadow, was named ‘Deputy Home Manager of the Year’. Glastonbury Court was also voted ‘Best Dementia Care’ and ‘Best Dining Experience’.
Mills Meadow and Asterbury Place, both rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), were also commended for their extremely high standards of care.
Sharlene Van Tonder, home manager at Glastonbury Court and Davers Court, and organiser of the event, said: “It’s been such a fantastic year for all of the Suffolk homes and I am incredibly proud to be part of such a fantastic team.”
Phillip Steyn, regional director for Care UK, added: “Everyone has worked incredibly hard this year, and I am proud of all of the homes in Suffolk for their consistent dedication to providing extremely high standards of care for residents, which has culminated in a total of 4 homes being rated as Outstanding.
“It was a fantastic afternoon, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The Suffolk Awards are a fantastic way for everyone to come together to celebrate the region’s success, and I’d like to thank each and every team member of Suffolk’s Care UK team for going above and beyond each day.”
