Pupils from Hythe Primary School took part in a competition to name the four suites at new care home, Carpathia Grange on Southampton Road.
When the care home opens in September 2019, the suites will be known as: the ‘Acorn Suite,’ the ‘Forest Suite,’ the ‘Grove Suite,’ and the ‘Maple Suite’, which were inspired by a nature theme suggested by the local pupils.
Care UK has presented the school with £200 in book vouchers to say thank you for the pupils’ hard work.
Ray Arnold, home manager at Carpathia Grange, said: “As we gear up to welcome the first residents to the home later this year, the all-important naming of the suites within the care home is a key consideration – and thispresented an excellent opportunity to work with Hythe Primary School.
“The ideas the pupils put forward were all of a very high standard, and we’re really pleased with the four final names chosen.”
Christine Moffat, class teacher at Hythe Primary School, added: “We were thrilled when Care UK asked to work with us on this exciting new venture here in Hythe. The children had a great time researching the local area to help them come up with four suite names.
“We are keen to build on this new relationship with Carpathia Grange, and we look forward to visiting the home once the first residents have moved in.”
