Hole in one! Murrayside supports local golfer’s dream

Murrayside is going above par by sponsoring a professional golfer.

Lauder Lodge teamed up with Murrayside and Cairdean House, in Edinburgh, as well as Wellmeadow Lodge in Glasgow and Tor-Na-Dee in Aberdeen, to donate £3,000 to support Scottish professional golfer,Marc Owenson.

The donation will support Marc on his summer tour across Scotland and go towards logistics and equipment costs, including a custom golf bag, branded with Care UK’s colours: white, pink and purple.

Marc is no stranger to Lauder Lodge, as he challenged residents and their families in a ‘beat the pro’ competition last year to mark the home’s very own outdoor putting green launch. This visit also saw Marc sharing his best golfing tips and playing a couples of holes with residents

Nicole Anderson, home manager at Lauder Lodge, said: “Here at Lauder Lodge, we value our links to the community, and are always looking for new ways to support local people. Everyone enjoyed meeting Marc last year, so we’re thrilled to be able to support him to achieve his ambitions. Good luck Marc!”

“Golf is a popular hobby among the residents, so there’s no doubt we will be following Marc throughout the season, and we are looking forward to working with him on future projects.”

Marc Owenson, professional golfer from Gullane Pro Shop, added: “I’m really excited to be spending the summer doing what I love and competing in high-levels tournament at home, in Scotland, and the support that sponsors provide is truly invaluable.

“I’d like to thank Care UK and the team at Lauder Lodge for their support.”
