The team at Deewater Grange were joined by Mayor Alec Black and his wife Janet, alongside developer and construction partner, Metnor Construction, to put the final tile on the roof of the new-build care home.
The project is on track to create more than 65 jobs when the care home is fully commissioned, and will welcome its first residents later this year.
Mayor Alec Black comments: “I am delighted to have been part of this milestone as Care UK steps ever closer to opening the doors to older people in Chester.”
Claire Ellam, development project manager at Care UK, said: “I am thrilled that Mayor Alec Black was able to join us for the occasion, and I look forward to welcoming him back to see the home once complete.
“As the latest addition to a growing portfolio of residential care homes, Deewater Grange represents a major investment for Care UK. When complete, the purpose-built care home will boost the provision of quality residential care for up to 59 people, as well as creating jobs for the local community.”
Richard Dixon, project manager at Metnor Construction, who is overseeing the development, added: “Our team is delighted to have marked this key stage in the construction programme with our partners at Care UK. This project will deliver beautifully designed individual accommodation for residents, complemented by high quality communal facilities, and we’re all excited to see the impressive building beginning to take shape.”
