Murrayside and Lauder Lodge named best in the country

Two care homes in Edinburgh are celebrating after being recognised as two of the best in Scotland.  

The carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards highlight the most recommended care homes in each region of the UK. The awards are based on over 120,000 reviews received from residents and relatives.

This year, Murrayside and Lauder Lodge both received the prestigious distinction and were named among the best care homes in Scotland for the 2019 awards.  

Michelle Reid, home manager at Murrayside, said: “We are delighted to have been recommended as a top 20 care home in Scotland. Creating a home-away-from home has always been our top priority ever since we opened our doors in Edinburgh, so I’m thrilled to see how far we’ve come in less than six months. 

“Everyone here strives to enable residents to remain active and independent and to get the most out of every day; whether that means supporting them to join in with arts and crafts, music sessions, baking or gentle exercise classes.
