Calling all chocoholics – Scarlet House hosts chocolate talk and tasting

Scarlet House is hosting a special Easter event for local people to take a journey through the history of chocolate, and enjoy some sweet treats.

Calling all chocoholics – Scarlet House hosts chocolate talk and tasting

On Tuesday 23rd April, from 2pm-4pm, Scarlet House will open its doors to the community for a ‘Chocolate talk and tasting’ with Laurence Trackman, director of chocolate at the University of Happiness.

Laurence has travelled the world on cruise ships speaking about the history of chocolate, and during this special talk, residents and visitors will be able to find out more about how chocolate is made, its medicinal use, and why eating it can be good for your health. He will also explain why different chocolates taste the way they do and give everyone the chance to sample them.

This talk is being hosted to raise funds for the MS Society, a cause close to Laurence’s heart and Scarlet House’s charity for the next 12 months.

Home manager at Scarlet House, Kate Stevens, said: “Many of us at Scarlet House have a sweet tooth so we jumped at the chance to host this special event. We’re really looking forward to finding out more about our favourite treat – including its positive health benefits!

“We hope local people will join us for some sweet treats and an interesting session with Laurence Trackman.”
