Senior team appointed to take the helm of new Whitstable care home

Harrier Lodge has announced the appointment of its senior team members.

Care UK has appointed Diane Collins as home manager of its new home, Harrier Lodge, on Thanet Way. 

Diane Collins will lead the team at the care home, which recently opened its doors, having previously managed five care homes throughout her career.

Diane has spent three decades working within the care sector, and most of that time has been as a home manager. Her new position will see her take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Harrier Lodge, which will accommodate up to 65 residents.

Commenting on her new position, Diane said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed the home manager at Harrier Lodge. Having worked in the care sector for over thirty years, I knew that working at Care UK would be the perfect fit for me as they share my values of ensuring residents continue to live independent and fulfilling lives.

“Having the opportunity to start at a brand new care home, and create a welcoming, home-from-home environment for the residents, their families, and our team, is something I’m really looking forward to. I’m thrilled to be starting my new journey with Care UK and I am very excited about developing and supporting the new care team and ensuring residents live a purposeful life.”

Diane will have the support of Theresa Mead, customer relations manager at Harrier Lodge. Having joined Care UK nearly eight years ago, Theresa has successfully supported several homes to a high standard, resulting in her appointment at the new home in Whitstable. 

Accompanying Diane and Theresa will be; Clare Glister as deputy manager, Jay Puthupanath as head chef, Carla Thorne as business manager and Kerry Birch as head of maintenance. 

Theresa added: “Since starting with Care UK all those years ago, I feel honoured every day to be part of something with real purpose and meaning. I am very proud of our fantastic new home’s facilities, we’ve got a great team and with the first residents already moving in we are already starting to build a real community here at Harrier Lodge.I can’t wait to show people around the new home, and really give them a feel for what life is like at Harrier Lodge.”
