The team at Murrayside welcomed representatives from Corstorphine Community Centreto officially receive the donation. The voluntary organisation provides local community activities, and is currently raising funds to build a new community centre in Corstorphine Village.
Speaking about the donation, Murrayside customer relations manager, Gillian Gray, said: “The local community is an important part of life here at Murrayside, so we wanted to take this opportunity to show our support.
“Before it was destroyed by a fire, the Corstorphine Community Centre was a well-loved landmark for over a hundred years, so we are proud to support its reconstruction. We will be following every step of the rebuild, and we are looking forward to working with the centre on future projects as we start a new chapter here in Edinburgh”.
David Sutherland, charity trustee for the Corstorphine Community Centre, said, “We were delighted to receive this generous donation, which will enable us to continue providing meaningful activities by building a brand-new community centre.
“We are keen to build on this new relationship with Murrayside, and on behalf of everyone at the Corstorphine Community Centre, I would like to thank Gillian, the team at the home, and Care UK for their generosity.”
