It’s time for a cuppa – Brook Court hosts Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Brook Court is asking the people of Kidderminster to join them for tea, cake and a chat to raise funds for two good causes.

It’s time for a cuppa – Brook Court hosts Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

On Friday 15th March, from 11.30am, Brook Court will open its doors to the community for a ‘Mad Hatters’- themed tea party and cake sale for the charity initiatives, ‘Time for a Cuppa’ and Comic Relief.

Residents and visitors will be able to relax and enjoy hot drinks, alongside a selection of indulgent treats specially prepared by Brook Court chefs, all of which will be available in exchange for a small donation which will go to the worthy charities.

Home manager at Brook Court, Gill Pratt, said: “Thousands of people around the UK are living with dementia, and we understand all too well how much this can affect their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

“Hosting a special Mad Hatters Tea Party provides us with a great opportunity to thank Dementia UK and the Admiral Nurses for the incredible work that they do. We are also excited to raise funds for Comic Relief, which helps people all over the world – we hope local people will join us on the day, wear a hat, and share a cuppa with friends.”

2019 marks the 10th anniversary of ‘Time for a Cuppa’, previously known as ‘A Tea Party to Remember’, an initiative launched by Dementia UK which encourages individuals and organisations across the country to host tea parties in order to raise funds. The initiative has helped funding 30 Admiral Nurses, who provide specialist dementia care and support for 6,000 people living with dementia and their families.

Comic Relief supports projects around the UK and across the world, tackling inequality and making lasting change.
