Brook Court cuppa event raises cash for causes

The home opened its doors to the community for a ‘Mad Hatters’- themed tea party and cake sale for the charity initiatives, ‘Time for a Cuppa’ and Comic Relief.

Residents and visitors enjoyed a selection of indulgent treats specially prepared by Brook Court chefs, in exchange for a small donation which has made its way to the worthy charities.

Home manager at Brook Court, Gill Pratt, said: “Thousands of people around the UK are living with dementia, and we understand all too well how much this can affect their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

“Hosting the special Mad Hatters Tea Party provided us with a great opportunity to thank Dementia UK and the Admiral Nurses for the incredible work that they do. The party was great fun and we were delighted that local people and residents alike donned their hats to share a cuppa, whilst raising funds for both causes.”
