Ambleside helps Stratford-upon-Avon residents to understand dementia

Ambleside is inviting the local community to a free event for families caring for those living with dementia.

Ambleside helps Stratford-upon-Avon residents to understand dementia

On Tuesday 26th March, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Ambleside will open the doors to the community for one of its popular ‘Dementia Awareness’ events.

Mary Bruce, from Worcestershire University, will share insights on the condition along with practical strategies for caring for a loved one with dementia, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers.

After the event there will be a Q&A session and the opportunity to meet the friendly team at Ambleside, as well as take a closer look at the care home.

Home manager at Ambleside, Julia Joy, said: “We know that it can be challenging to look after a friend or relative living with dementia. It’s natural to feel confused about the best way to help a loved one, so our event aims to offer professional knowledge to those who need it – as well as provide a hub for shared experiences.

“We want people to know they’re not alone, and we’re here to offer support. We look forward to welcoming them to the home for an inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
