On Friday 8th March, from 2.30pm - 4pm, Snowdrop House will open its doors to the community for a bake sale for ‘Time for a Cuppa’.
Residents and visitors will be able to relax and enjoy hot drinks, alongside a selection of indulgent treats specially prepared by Snowdrop House’s chefs, all of which will be available in exchange for a small donation to Dementia UK.
2019 marks the 10th anniversary of ‘Time for a Cuppa’, previously known as ‘A Tea Party to Remember’, an initiative launched by Dementia UK which encourages individuals and organisations across the country to host tea parties in order to raise funds. The initiative has helped to fund 30 Admiral nurses, who provide specialist dementia care and support for 6,000 people living with dementia and their families.
Patricia Jamieson, responsible for running Snowdrop House, said: “We understand how dementia impacts the lives of not only those living with it, but also the lives of all those around them – we strongly believe that everyone deserves to have access to all the help and support they need.
“Taking part in Time for a Cuppa provides us with an opportunity to show our support to the fantastic Admiral nurses and give thanks for all of the incredible work they do. It also creates a lovely occasion to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a cuppa and a catch up.”
