On Tuesday 26th February, from 2pm - 4pm, Cedrus House is welcoming experts to give advice to the local community at its ‘Falls prevention and awareness’ event.
Sam Reid, falls prevention exercise leader, and Anita Walkinshaw, falls prevention co-ordinator, from Suffolk Community Services, will be discussing common causes of slips and trips, as well as providing practical advice for maintaining independence and reducing balance problems.
After the event there will be a Q&A session to ensure attendees get the most out of the talk and everyone will have the opportunity to meet the team at Cedrus House and take a tour of the care home.
Michelle Webster, home manager at Cedrus House, said: “Here at Cedrus House, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community, and we are able to do just that with the help of specially selected experts who will be speaking at this session.
“Falls prevention is very important to the team, and to the wellbeing of the residents, as accidentalfalls can occasionally lead to further health issues. It is imperative that we create a safe environment for older people in the community, and ensure that family and friends have the correct information to prevent accidents.
“We are looking forward to welcoming local people to Cedrus House for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
