Considering the care of your loved one? ‘Outstanding’ Amberley Lodge offers free advice

Amberley Lodge is inviting the local community to a free event offering support for people considering care for their loved one.

On Tuesday 19th February, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Amberley Lodge will open its doors to local people for a free ‘How We Care’ event. 

The experienced Care UK team will be on hand to deliver an informative talk on what to look for when choosing a home, the next steps to take and what day-to-day life is really like in a modern care home. 

After the event there will be a helpful Q&A session, and the opportunity to tour the home and meet the friendly team.

Amberley Lodge will also be celebrating its recent ‘outstanding’ CQC rating, which was awarded to recognise the home’s excellent level of care, its well-led service, and the team’s responsiveness to residents. Inspectors commented on how exceptionally caring the team at Amberley Lodge is, and how they ensured that care was provided in a meaningful way, in a happy, relaxed environment.

During the event, a new plaque to commemorate the outstanding rating will be unveiled. The party will then continue with a Rat Pack era theatre show, ‘Live from Chicago!’, from singer, Daniel Brewerton. Sparkling wine and canapés will be available throughout the event also. 

Home manager at Amberley Lodge, Krystyna Bosko, said: “Here at Amberley Lodge, we understand that finding the right care home is a hugely important decision, so we’re offering a helping hand to those who need guidance. Our ‘How We Care’ event is a great opportunity for the local community to come and find out more about what caring entails. 

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Amberley Lodge, and the fact that we’re also celebrating out new CQC rating will make the day even more special. I’m so pleased our continued efforts have been recognised by the CQC’s inspectors – everyone here is so passionate about improving the quality of residents’ lives, and the team work incredibly hard to make a positive difference.”

The report praised Krystyna and her contribution to the care industry, recognising her recent nomination in the ‘registered manager’ category for the Great British Care Awards. It was noted how proud the team were of their work, with residents and their relatives commenting "I would give them a gold star!” and "The care couldn't be this good unless it came from the top".
