On Wednesday 14th November, from 2pm-4pm, the Care UK team at Weald Heights on Bourchier Close will open the doors to the care home for its ‘Safety in the home’ event.
Community wardens from Kent County Council, Steve Grange and Paul Robertson, will be joined by Dan Morley, from Kent Fire and Rescue, for the informative session on how to stay safe. They will also offer expert advice on fire safety in the home and prevention of doorstep crime and scams, including distraction burglary.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, refreshments and an opportunity to meet the team at Weald Heights, as well as take a closer look at the care home.
Home manager, Maria Covington, said: “Here at Weald Heights,we understand that providing advice and guidance onthe importance of staying safe in the home can be incredibly helpful for everyone, but especially for older people, as they are often targeted by rogue traders and cold calling.
“We are delighted to have Steve, Paul, and Dan joining us, who can provide professional guidance in this area, and we hope local people will take the opportunity to benefit from their expertise.”
