The team at Bowes House, on Battle Road, welcomed the people of Hailsham to celebrate the era of ‘Mods and Rockers’ with a special themed party.
Guests enjoyed live entertainment from a host of bands and performers, including The Vesperettas and Dimitru, who got everyone in the party spirit.
Visitors could also take a nostalgic trip down memory lane with a vintage bike display.
Residents and visitors were also treated to a delicious selection of home-made cakes and pastries, and soup of the day and freshly baked rolls, specially prepared by Bowes House’s chefs.
Helena Barrow, homemanager at Bowes House, said: “We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating the 1960s at Bowes House, and the residents really enjoyed reminiscing about the Mods and Rockers era.
“For older people living with dementia, reminiscence activities can be a brilliant way of encouraging communication and have many therapeutic benefits. Many of the residents brought up their families in the 1960s, so it was fantastic to hear their anecdotes from that time.
“We would like to say a big thank you to the people of Hailsham for making the day so special.”
